My roots are deeply embedded in the
Treasure State of Montana, reaching back to the mining days of Butte and
Virginia City, Territory of Montana.
My Grandfather Pollard arrived in Butte in 1878
and obtained a position in the copper mines. Moving to Virginia City in
1892 he embarked upon a career in the hotel business, owning and
operating hotels in V.C. and Red Lodge, MT.
Grandmother was born and raised in the
mining town of Virginia City, Territory of Montana, in 1877. Married in
1896 they settled in Red Lodge where they owned and operated the Pollard
Hotel for many years.
Adventure definitely has been a part of
my heritage. I too was raised in this beautiful state...but as many
Montanans, left to see the country. My travels have led to Alaska, Cape
Cod and even a period of time working on the Mighty Mississippi River.
As the cliché goes, once a Montanan,
always a Montanan. I too returned to the Treasure State to make it my
home and to enjoy the benefits it has to offer. With the love and
support of my friends and my three children, Tom, Karen and Michael,
together with their families, I once again have embarked upon a
"new" adventure.
